The Ringing Rocks are a unique geological formation that features rocks that ring musically, when taped with a hammer. They are natural lithophones – instruments based on rocks that are struck.

I've just put together a multisample of the littleBits Korg Synth Kit sawtooth and square waves. The samples work with Kontakt 5, Ableton 9.1, and SFZ.
Features:
Features:
- Three formats: SFZ, Native Instruments Kontakt 5.1, and Ableton Live 9.1 (Simpler).
- one sample per note, recorded in 96khz, 16-bit using a high-end audio interface
- Seemless waveform looping
- Recorded without lowpass filter (add your own software filters within Ableton, SFZ plugin, or Native Instruments Kontakt)
- Control envelope within SFZ, Ableton or Native Instruments Kontakt
- Both littleBits waveforms: sawtooth and square wave
- 5+ octaves
- Allows for polyphony (which the actual synth kit does not)
- Responds to velocity (which the actual synth kit does not)
- Ableton instrument responds to pitch bend and mod wheel (which actual synth kit does not)

Looks interesting but it seems the zip archives are corrupt and won't open here.davidchild wrote:I've just put together a multisample of the littleBits Korg Synth Kit sawtooth and square waves. The samples work with Kontakt 5, Ableton 9.1, and SFZ.

littleBits-Saw-Wave.zip = Corrupt
littleBits-Square-Wave = OK. The top octave seems to have a very different sound to the rest of the Kontakt Instrument.

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Flintpope has released Chroma, using Chromaphone to make Kontakt patches
http://flintpope.com/kontakt.phpFor those who seek originality in their musical palettes, AAS offer the Chromaphone Percussion Synthesizer. This can create authentic tuned and unpitched percussion, strings and ethereal pads from scratch. Flintpope wrote 24 new Chromaphone presets. These sounds were then racked-up in Kontakt to create 24 new instruments utilising NI’s powerful and varied effects.

Free samples of the UK's Philharmonia Orchestra.
From an article in Electronic Musician:http://www.emusician.com/gear/1332/this ... stra/59459
"Thanks to the Philharmonia Orchestra, you can pick and choose from possibly the most legit free collection of orchestral instrument samples available for your tracks. It has posted thousands of professionally recorded samples from 50 musical and percussive instruments played by its own musicians. For each melodic instrument, there are dozens upon dozens of samples played at different pitches, dynamic levels and articulations. The only downside to this remarkable collection is that you must download samples one at a time rather than in bulk."
Samples are available for 50 instruments (even saxes), with many different articulations. You can download each individual instrument's .ZIP file of all the samples; you don't have to download each note in each articulation, one at a time (though that's how they initially appear on screen).
Wish I'd had these when I was working on an "orchestral" piece earlier this week. Miroslav and EWQLSO got me through it, I guess.
