i have wavelab le 8,have been thinking about upgrading to wavelab elements 9

but was wondering how limited is the audio montage in elements compaired to the pro version?

Dunno, but you could try the demo of Wavelab Elements. As far as it's written here: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/wavelab/trial.html you can test it fully functional for 30 days. This feature comparison shows that there may be some parts of the audio montage features missing though: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/wa ... ne_up.html

What exactly are you looking for in the feature? I could fire up Elements, and see. Not very familiar with the audio montage thing though.

thinking how limited it is,when compilling multiple tracks for a release in the montage, and you wanna do level adjustments,so the tracks come to the same level and stuff like that

also does the wavelab elements 9 require a usb -elicenser,or is it like the wavelab LE where the elicenser gets saved on your harddrive?

Yeah, you can use Elements with the soft eLicenser.

that is good to know,by the way do you know how many tracks you are limited to load into the audio montage of wavelab elements 9 for compiling a release?

As i wrote, i'm not familiar with the audio montage, but the manual says that an audio montage can contain up to 3 stereo- or mono-tracks and infinite audio clips on an audio track. I guess that's also the limitation when compared to the pro version of Wavelab.

EDIT: I took a look...

There is also a limit on the number of plugins you can use - 2 or 3 (again), I think. But that's 2 on a track, and 2 per clip, plus 3 on the master.
I just use for making CDs...
