Something wrong with RC chord recognising feature

Dear All
Recently I tried some chord recognising in RapidComposer (3.1b13 x64) and found this function quite weak.
I made simple pop chord progression, like (Am C F CG Am G Gsus) and placed piano phrases on it.
After it, I saved midi file and tried to find right chord progression with "import midi" function. Quite bad.

Further, I tried "Harmonise Melody" function in context menu. Better, but still not good enough.

RC could not recognise simple chord, like Am. It suppose to be quite essential job. At the end I used primitive MidiChordAnaliser plugin, and voila! So, what am I doing wrong then?

Please, have a look at the video:

Hello Krovatin,

I'll check this immediately, thank you for reporting it.
Please note that Melody harmonization was created for monophonic parts.
However MIDI Import should recognize these chords perfectly.

Thanks!

I recreated the composition with same or similar phrases but I received good chords when importing MIDI:

Can you send me the MIDI file that you used in this video? Chord detection worked well so far, so I wonder what went wrong.

Thanks,
Attila

glad to help Attila,
strange indeed
now i am wondering also :)

It turned out that was a hidden bug in chord detection that I chased for hours. :phew:
Here is the resulting master track:

Csus2 is an inversion of Gsus4 so that does not count as an error :)
Thanks so much, yellukhan and Krovatin! The fix will be included in v3.1b14 (uploaded tomorrow, on Sunday if all goes well)

Sorry, guys, just have read this post, too late to send you midi file, I am afraid. )))
Thanks for quick reply.

Dear Yellukhan, just if I can ask you to make your embedded "cartoons" more slow, perhaps, double slow speed would be reasonable? For old man like me. ))

Dear Krovatin,
i think you mean gif animations by cartoon..
ok got my promise ill try to a little slow for next captures..

(between you and me i am not young either...
just pretending while creating videos :hihi: )

:hihi: shall I say I am not too young either ?

Hi Krovatin,

the update is already available (v3.1b14) with the fixed chord detection.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Thanks, Attila,

Unfortunately, I can not reproduce Yellukhan's "recognition from phrase inspector does the job well" also.
What am I doing wrong again?

I installed new b14 update, it is much better now, but not perfect though, have a look:

Last chord is still a problem, but it was odd anyway.
Also I attached MIDI file as well, should do it first time, sorry.

Harmonize is another subject of another topic :)

Post

Thanks. Could you refer me to another topic about "harmonize melody", please? I have not found one.
