A rather iconic character in 80s r&b has left us

Personally, he was one of my musical heroes, especially his early 80s stuff. He did develop a heavily synth based production style too that was immensely funky at times.

I must admit I have not heard much about him before now.
But checking out his tracks from the 80's, they are pretty good.
Going before 60 is too early, but I hope he lived a good life. RIP

Yeah he was big within the 80s US r&b circles but didn't really manage to cross over that much.

Really bad news. RIP. His productions brought me away from my Fender Bass to sequenzing with Atari and than to Cubase. His groovy Synth baselines impressed me too much.
