Here is a old style guitar modulation patch with delays and pitch shifting.
What Fault allows that is very cool, is programming many of the parameters to change and evolve musically.
This gives an ever changing organic quality to the modulations and delays.

Here is something more extreme.
The Gamelan starts dry, the patch is slowly added.
Preset - Ghost Wind

---
Much more extreme...
This takes advantage of Faults ability to follow the tempo and automate the FX based on it.
Starts dry, then wet.

Steve, I really like those preset demos! I just retweeted it from our Twitter account. It's really cool to see preset designers tackling our products and creating 3rd-party preset packages.

I don't know, I think I prefer my interfaces a little more "tactile", but not necessarily in a skeuomorphic kind of way.
It's actually a little known psychological fact that the more tactile something looks, the more it will make you want to reach out and touch it. Artists exploit this quite a bit to make something more engaging, but UI design also benefits because supposedly the more people want to touch it, the more the will want to use it.
That's the theory, keep in mind everyone's experiences could vary a little.
But hey... I'm not knocking the UI design either. What it lacks in being tactile, it makes up for in personality.
It's certainly on my buy list, I think I'm going to get it this weekend. I'm just wresling with this whole "do I really need another plugin" kind of thing.
I am impressed by their stuff though.

Yes, once you get into it, things are rather intuitive.
Its a fun tool.

Here is one using the modulators to automate the pitch/harmonies based of the tempo.thelizard wrote:Steve, I really like those preset demos! I just retweeted it from our Twitter account. It's really cool to see preset designers tackling our products and creating 3rd-party preset packages.

Starts dry, then effected (did I mention, this thing is addictive):

A self-resonating Fault patch, at first processing one of my Iris sounds, at the end of the video only the feedback loops inside Fault create the sounds by themselves. Some B2 reverb added in the mix.

Somehow I missed this video. This is awesome! Thanks, Simon. I was just sent a batch of your presets for an upcoming product... They're absolutely incredible. "Combed Feedback Scape" just rattled my room when it hit the lowest frequency.
For interested parties, we just posted a teaser =)

I got highly addicted to your "upcoming product" over the week and spent many many hours with it, and yes - my subwoofers were having a blast with that preset toothelizard wrote:Somehow I missed this video.
