Its not a lately bass in its entirety. .. I have many iterations of a lately bass including the real deal on yamaha...

Agreed that this bass sounds to have fm dna in it but somehow it has a fuller sound than a single lately bass.. there is more body to the sound.... that said it sounds more rich and has a more rough growly sound to it...

Pretty basic sound i think. 2 saw oscillators, one tuned an octave down, phase reset, and, what i noticed, it seems to be important to set for both the amp envelope, and the filter envelope a more or less linear decay curve. At least i wasn't able to get close with exponential envelope curves. The rest, i used a 24 dB lowpass filter, as you can see in the preset, a little bit of resonance, and about halfway filter envelope amount. Oh, and i also used some drive in the shaper.

You probably need more feedback on Op2 to get the squelch and take it away from the Solid Bass end of those sounds.

I think it could me a blend of both.. ie a fm type bass layerd with what you have done... I am at work now but when I get home I will layer your patch with a lately preset also from Spire and compress and saturate it and see what happens... thank you very much for your patch and also your input Geoff
