Just thought I would comment on anyone having a brain block with their music. Try something different, I have just bought Maschine Jam and the way it works matches my brain. Has helped me to fit the parts together easier. : ))

It sounds like a modern-day hybrid of MARRS "Pump up the Volume" and NIN's "Only". It's got a darkish vibe which differentiates it from a lot of more typical House styles. I wasn't too sure about the gated synth. there are a couple of places where the number of steps increase and don't seem to quite fit the tempo of the piece.
Good work

I liked the groove especially the bass line. I didn't have a problem with the odd timings. I thought it injected some interest and unpredictably.
I think the gated synth is too loud. I would lower that sound and boost the bass to balance out the mix.
Good job.

A few things
Side chain the bass not for effect but to pull it out of the way of the kick and snare
The break down is too long
Less trying to be tricky with the reverse drums maybe once in the song
Introduce new elements after the drop
keep at it and have fun
Cheers

Ok, thanks for the advice peeps side chained bassline, cut break down reversed and tuned synth noise and added new noise.

This version sounds darker, I think however you are adding treble (master bus?) might need some revision, also this one is a bit less dynamic in the lowmids, idk which version I like better.

I like the new one. As camsr already said, it's darker, and you have tidied up the gated synth so that it no longer draws attention to itself. It's a good fit now.
