Had a quick run though the presets and this is really well done.
It's a bit CPU heavy but I guess Reaktor is not known for it's CPU efficiency.
I intend to get down the CPU usage in the next update, but that probably won't be for another month.

By the way, I started a blog about its creation at http://insidious6581.blogspot.co.uk

All I can say is you just wait. chipsounds 2.0 has a cycle accurate SID emu that I've spent a lot of time on.

Is there any update about this? Just can't wait..also for the 64-bit version of SIDizer and Oresus.

Biting my fingers not to say more. As usual I went crazy adding stuff and It's taking longer than expected. Note chipsounds 2.0 is cut into many 'smaller' dedicated synths dubbed 'chipsynths', the first ones should come before the end of the year.

The only one announced is chipsynth FC so far. FC is short for FamiCom, the Japanese precursor to the NES (includes the 2A03 and all cartridge synth 'mappers')

Please stay tuned for news on the SID front, you will NOT be disappointed :)

I've seen the graphic and video teaser of Chipsynth, looking great! All the best with the upcoming release and the SID update.

Interesting. Will this simplify the GUI (and cut CPU/RAM usage)? Is it still going to be one monolithic product in terms of licensing?

Making each console/system into its independent plugin/UI really allows to tune the presets and workflow for each console's uniqueness, to do things a generic multi-layer synth (which was the chipsounds approach) failed to do, and to implement console specific inter-channel links, like hard sync, ring mod, FM etc. But I'm not ready to say all the extra stuff this will do haha.

Also all licenses are independent. Buy only the chipsynths you want, much more affordable prices for each, etc.

Good idea. That way with the more coherent UX and improved dedicated workflows, there is a higher probability that a customer will be in a position to decide if the plugin is worth buying within the 4 minute demo period. :hihi:

Any ideas on prices for each chipsynth yet?

Thanks!
