I will spend the day with this tomorrow and let you guys know. I still have 8 and 8.5 installed. I will be comparing the same project to be sure of accuracy.

As for the Plugin manager...it is improved and is a big deal in my opinion. Undo in the Mixer is also awesome and will be hard to live without moving forward. Hopefully I can offer up all of the game changers and see the real benefit of this to see if it REALLY is the most complete version.

The color theme is similar to Cubase 7.5 rather than Cubase 8, am I right?

If so SHUDDUP AND TAKE MAH MONEY (after it becomes stable)..

Probably depends on who you are watching use it. Since you can change the colors it could be that somebody chose to go with the version 7 colors. Maybe they switched around the colors a bit for the update as a default setting. But you should already be able to make the colors like version 7 even if you don't get 9.

@ wickfut:
I can change my ASIO settings, I can get a sample from another ssd and drag it into the sampler track just like that, all I tried to open opened like it should. I downloaded the manual from the Steinberg site - I never use F1 because I can have it open on a second monitor in pdf format.

Still a lot to unlearn, relearn (habits) but this is, for me, the best and handiest version of Cubase I ever used. Really. Of course there may be some bugs. In software as large as this, that's nearly inevitable. But they will get solved. Up to now I have not had any problems.

Too early to say for sure.

I'm currently mixing a song (in Cubase pro 8.5), that is glitching and maxing out average performance load. Opened the song in Cubase pro 9 last night and ran it through once, average performance load stayed constant around 70%.

Need to do more testing to be sure. Might end up mixing this in 9.

Hello,
Jolaff wrote:Is there a way to demo it ? I own Cubase 8.5.

Also ...are the pop up thing on the sides of the windows are stilll there ?
The demo will be available as always in around 6 weeks, once the first big maintenance update has been released.

Yes, the pop up menus on the side have been removed for this version.

I formatted the PC last night and done a fresh Windows 10 64 reinstall this morning, it's now 4pm and I've just finished downloading and installing all the large Kontakt/Halion sound libraries. Still a lot of 64 bit software not working and crashing when reactivated from the blacklist, all my Izotope stuff is gone apart from Breaktweaker.

My ASIO settings on my Digigram VX222e soundcard still won't go lower than 22ms as cubase blocks the specific control panel I need to open to access the settings. Mytek firewire one works fine though?

Sampler is working and... what use it is ?

Why reactivate them... I've mentioned this a few times. Delete the iZ named plugins from the VST folder. Keep the iZotope named ones. You should have VST3 versions anyway so you could delete them all. The blacklist is there for a reason. Once i sorted mine out, jumping from project to project has never been stabler, even when i tried Cubase 8.5.

Edit... if people want to use the 2.4 version... don't delete the iZ named files.

As has been mentioned several times, registration has no impact on grace period updates. It's all about activation. As soon as you enter the activation code and start using your software the time is set. Otherwise nobody would register until the last minute hoping to score free upgrades after using their software forever.

You can actually use your software up to 30 days prior to the grace period be obtaining a demo.

Does Cubase 9 fix the issue when inserting a vsti and the audio engine skips or drops out audio for a second or two. To me this was my biggest hate for 8.5 , it always seemed very unprofessional when working in the studio with clients, and they would always think it was an issue with my cpu,and it clearly was cubase all along.

Any takers, can you test this ? It was completely easy to do, just have a track playing, and then insert a vsti and see if it drops out audio.
thanks

After a truly epic amount of attempts to download the full installer it's finally here. OH TEH EXCITEMENTS

(Guillermo, is there a compelling reason the server doesn't support resumable downloads?)

No this is standard behaviour in Cubase and hasn't changed in this version. I think it would need to be coded more like Ableton or Bitwig to accomplish what you are after.

It's not a bug..
The system needs to get the delay compensation for that plug.

Logic X works differently..
