I found a post by "fischkopf" that worked well for me. He describes how to use the free pizmidi MidiPolyphony plugin by InsertPizHere with FL Studio Patcher and Color Mapper. It should probably work in other DAWs too, although I don't know exactly how to set it up. I also tried one key chords with VFX Key Mapper which worked but is more limited.

That thread also mentions notelogic, but I didn't try it.

I was just scrolling through presets in the "root" folder, and then "leads" - and after a while they pretty much all had missing notes. Then I just switched to VST2 and it's been fine.
I'll do a little work and try to troubleshoot / reproduce. I've had trouble with SONAR and a few VST3 plugs in the past - so assumed this is just one more ;-)
Thx for the info. No problem should you not find the time to test this. If you accidentally stumble across the issue again, every bit of info will of course be helpful. But I guess it's one of those bugs which might only happen once in a while (in a galaxy far, far away) and thus might be harder to reproduce.
It's also quite possible that Sonar has some general unresolved issues with the VST3 format.

Thx again, and have a nice weekend.
Hi tasmanian,
I tried to reproduce this again today - but of course I couldn't :-\

I tried to browse through the same presets as the other day - but it was all OK today. I just remembered that I had some other weirdness before the VST3 problem, where I clicked on "Uhe" to open the manual - it took me to the file system (Windows) but I couldn't open the pdf!
I rebooted and it was OK. Then I opened the manual, browsed a bunch of presets (looking to record a part over some guitar chords) - and then the erros with bad notes started.

Oh well, maybe it was just a "bad computer day", but I thought I'd report it.
Of course, I also had a Windows 10 update yesterday too - so it's an ever moving target...

Meanwhile, I'll stick to the VST2 version of Repro-1 ;-)

Thanks a lot John, for taking the time to check this, and for the additional information.
Maybe it really was just some one-time glitch in the matrix. :clown:
I surely hope so, but I'll continue investigating this next week, just in case there is something I overlooked.

I am still waiting for a vst plug that can host some other synths like 3 times a Repro-1.
The plug could then spread a played 3 voice chord to three different mono synths
So I could play Repro-1 with 3 voices.
I believe Logic has such a Midi Plug. But no other DAW.
Hope that someday such a VST plug exists.
How about MUX?
Already did this in Mulab using Kairatune mono synth, after some setting up it worked well. Including mapping a lot of the controls so that moving a parameter on one, moved the same parameter on others. Presets were another matter though.

Oh yeah! Notelogic was the one I was thinking of. I couldn't get it working because I think there are issues with Ableton Live. Or maybe it was user error? There was a free M4L device, Polymind, that worked perfectly so I never explored Notelogic further.

With Polymind, I had 6 instances of Legend running in 6 voice unison mode. Not too hard on the CPU and the sound was f'n glorious. I haven't tried RePro-1 as a poly yet. I don't think I have the final release installed yet, and the beta versions seemed too CPU hungry to make it work, but when I get the official version installed I'll give it a try. Too bad there's not an FX version so you could run a few instances dry and then run an instance for effects. That Jaws is amazing... though having wrote that, it's probably not an effect you'd want on a poly sound anyway.

- It seemed to have "dead" notes for some patches. In other words "UH Grinding Away" didn't play on some "E" keys, but played on all other keys (including other E keys)

The VST2 version works fine though. (so that's what I'll stick with)
THIS! is what I experience with the final Version of Repro-1 after I replaced the beta. I started a new song (Studio One 3.3.2 Win 7 x64) - and after a while of playing and recording I noticed some notes missing during playback. I have 3 instances of Repro-1 with different presets. Happens to all of them after a while. Random notes are not playable - stay mute. I use VST2 of Repro-1.

I can't tell what triggers this 'error' - but after some work in the song - it will happen again - the 'Repro-1 mute notes'
I close the song and reload it - all notes play fine.

Maybe they modeled the decaying keyboards found on late-model Pro-Ones? :hihi:

Sorry for the obvious joke. I'm on S1 3.3.2 x64 on Win 10 and haven't noticed this issue, but that doesn't mean much. If you can reproduce it, maybe send the project to U-he support so they can try it out in house?

Aha, very interesting. So there really is something going on, and it's not tied to a single host or plugin format.
Did you only notice this with the final version, and never with one of the beta versions? This would be very useful information.
Which presets did you use in your project? And do you remember how long it took until the notes started to get muted?

Hmm - I couldn't reproduce today...
I never really played enough with the beta version - I only noticed it with the 1.0.

Here's very-non-Yazoo quickie, 6 instances of Repro (including drum parts), no external FX what so ever, except compressor on master. About 30% on my machine, all in HQ mode.

What pissed me off a tiny bit is that official release defaults to CPU Saver mode. Would it be possible to add configurable default for this?
edit: of course, should have checked manual first

Looking good. That's way beyond the basic preset saving and loading I had in mind. Keep a fire extinguisher handy in case you decide to stack a few more on there.
