Yes, one of their VIP banks I think, like with Trilian. Good news, I think Keyscape was really missing some Spectrasonics organic/synthetic magic, hopefully this is it.beely wrote:Sounds likely to be a some kind of expansion pack for Omnisphere using the Keyscape sources - ie new OS patches that require the Keyscape sound sources, so it will only be usable for OS + KS owners...
Keyscape is available for download now!

I don't have Spectrasonics stuff, but someone could explain why can be Keyscape better than some Kontakt libraries... or why not?

Spectrasonics are very, very good at what they do, and have more experience in professional sample libraries than almost anyone else, not to mention their sound design talent as well.dune_rave wrote:I don't have Spectrasonics stuff, but someone could explain why can be Keyscape better than some Kontakt libraries... or why not?
But if a cheaper Rhodes Kontakt sample library is all you need and works for you, there's nothing wrong with that either...

They're not 'better' just different.dune_rave wrote:I don't have Spectrasonics stuff, but someone could explain why can be Keyscape better than some Kontakt libraries... or why not?
They each have a different philosophy of how they sample as well. Of course, Kontakt has the plus of so many developers using their philosophy in sampling to add to it as well.
In comparison of most of their included keyboards, it is a matter for your ears alone. For me, both of their pianos have a list of pros and cons and I find it is their 'non-piano' pianos that make them unique to each other where the other doesn't really compare.
e.g. Kontakt Giant & Una Corda... Keyscape MKS20.
But you'll likely get many 'veiled' comments of 'superiority' from both of their customer base.

Kontakt is more flexible in terms of scripting for sure. There are things missing in Keyscape/Omnisphere like the ability to have sympathetic resonance, but who knows, maybe it's something they could add.dune_rave wrote:I don't have Spectrasonics stuff, but someone could explain why can be Keyscape better than some Kontakt libraries... or why not?
The benefit of keyscape, if you use Omnisphere is that you can load any piano instantly in place of an oscillator or other sampled patch. You can't swap sound sources within a patch like that in Kontakt.
But the biggest thing really is the sound. These keyscape instruments just wow you with their detailed and beautiful sound. I found the same thing with the Trilian basses. They really are good at sampling and making the instruments sound larger than life.

and as if by magic just after I wrote the above

looks good pity I only have Omnisphere 2 though and not Keyscape - makes Keyscape even more tempting now though (I guess thats the point)

presuming these only work if you have both software products which is a shame
I'd assume most of the backing etc would work with any piano etc layered on top
in fact looking at the patch list its a bit confusing - a lot of the patches look more Omnisphere 2 than Keyscape - except for the Keyboard ones

...exactly what I always hoped. As ever with Omni, raw material can be turned into pretty much anything, really glad that they've not just sticked with the obvious keyboard patches. Will be playing later.Buckster wrote:in fact looking at the patch list its a bit confusing - a lot of the patches look more Omnisphere 2 than Keyscape - except for the Keyboard ones
Kudos to Spectrasonics. I liked Keyscape well enough, but felt they missed a large trick with it. The Creative Library is, I think, exactly that trick.
