Not turned out too bad I think. I've managed to get it all in tune as far as I can tell and have cobbled together a stereo instrument with some velocity layers and also a group switch (round robin) with the samples I recorded, plus the obligatory fake '12 string' patch for good measure, in the tx16's own format. Anyway, it's below if anyone will find it useful, together with a little sample of my piss-poor plectrum picking for demonstration purposes.

Nice. Does TX16wx let you write it out as a SF2 or SFZ?

Unfortunately not. When I first recorded the samples I tried a couple of the free sfz editors but they burnt my head out - been more than a few years since I did anything like this! When I tried with the tx16 it was so much easier so I settled on it, and anything you create in terms of round robins etc in the paid for version will still play in the free one, so I figured it was a decent choice. When I've had a bit more practice (doing my electrics, bass and (cough) ukulele next)) I'll probably have a go at sfz again.

I'm the guy who makes the No Budget Orchestra sfz library. I can easily make an sfz version for you. But I''d first want to know about the licensing terms. For one thing, I'd want to modify the waves a little. I think the looping can be improved. And there's some "rattling" that can be removed with careful noise reduction. I'd want to know if these modifications could be distributed to others before I invested time into creating the best possible sfz version.

Excellent! I'm happy for you to do whatever needs doing and it would be great to hear the result of someone who actually knows what they're doing! To be honest, I'm not well up on licensing etc. I only did the sampling for my own use, and when it turned out better than I expected I thought I'd see if anyone else could make use of it. I know there are 'creative commons' licenses. Would something like that cover it?

Hello, I'm looking for a sample of a vocal, of someone saying "uh" like a James Brown type of thing. I obviously don't want to sample him, but something like that for a rap song. Any idea where? It sounds easy but i've looked everywhere and as you can imagine there is every variation except for what I'm looking for- a funky sounding short "uh".
