Hello guys, my name is Rauf I am New to this forum I hope everyone is doing fine

After years of googling around and YouTubing finally came across to this forum with hope if someone can help me. It's been ages since I am trying to figure out the vocal effect or what kinda VST Plugins these Indian singers using on their vocal other than delay/reverb/echo effects (Arijitsingh, Atif Aslam, Arman Malik,) and also youtube singer Siddharth Slathia.

There is something like magical effect which plays along with vocal and when the vocal stops it disappears, (sounds like hiss sound, of course not the static hiss sound.. something like crisp breathing) Damn I don't know what to name it.

And I use (Adobe audition). Microphone (blue yeti), headphone (Audio-Technica ATH-M40x) mentioning hardware and software to save time if I am missing something

sample songs are below to hear that Vocal effect

I'm hearing a very short slapback on the first one, but no "static". The video is verging on soft porn.

Thanks for the response

have a read of this over on gearslutz

tldr version : as well as slapback and reverb add subtle distortion (console+tape)

Basically what it is is "sheen". You hear this on pretty much all modern commercial pop music. It's most striking when you're sitting about 10 metres from someone listening to the radio.. there's a prominent upper mid/high frequency that sizzles away constantly and effects the vocals especially, giving them a breathy quality.

The Siddharth one displays it well i nthe vocal track. The reverb is obviously contributing but there's something else. I'm sure saturation and some kind of shelving tricks play a part.

The best way I can describe it is that It's like an "Sss" that doesn't need de-essing.

Couldn't this just come down to choice of mic and some eq?
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

That's because they are using the reverb as a send effect. Basically, the reverb follows the dynamics of the vocals and fades out between the phrases with a short release time.
You should check Audition's manual on how to setup send effects.
Additionally, experiment with high freq EQ boost/exciters on the verb channel. That will accentuate the breathy quality of the reverb.

I believe this effect is at least partly achieved through multiband compression. If you compress the high frequencies with a very fast attack, then bring the level of that band back up, or both acts as a de-esser and helps add that breathy sheen. I'll try to add some audio examples at some point.

Yep for sure - EQs that saturate and add harmonics (not super clean like pro-Q) I'm talking Maag EQ4, Sie-Q etc. But usually analog hardware in the commercial world... so all the goodness with no aliasing :)

Just a 5% mix of Reviver with even harmonics can do something amazing to a mix, akin to just running through analog chain - but this is another topic.

It's not the old "dolby A" trick, is it?

:)
Back in the day, engineers used to record with a Dolby A noise reduction unit switched on, then turned it off on playback. You can reproduce the effect in your daw, but it's a bit of a rigmarole - there's a tutorial at the Sound On Sound website...
