Otristan has mentioned earlier in the thread (you'll have to look through it, I'm too busy right now to look up his exact words) that audio-rate modulation between oscillators probably won't happen, I'm guessing it could come at a huge cpu cost. I do have a few thoughts on some features that could help without needing to be able to route anything anywhere at audio-rate.

The FM oscillator could have a 5th pcm-based operator added, which would allow some interesting possibilities. It wouldn't need all sorts of time-stretching or granular features, just the ability to load multisamples (which would naturally include single-cycle waveforms), and perhaps a simple filter to control some of the overtone content before it modulates the other operators. The MOD 7 engine in the Korg Kronos can do this.

Adding additional waveform choices to the operators would be great. Options like the TX81Z (8 waveforms) or SY77 (16 waveforms) had would help a lot.

Another possibility would be to have an effect module, similar to the ring modulator, but producing FM between the input signal and an onboard carrier. This would allow FM using any signal.

There may be technical reasons why these ideas are impractal (or even impossible), but I thought I'd throw them out and see if anything sticks.

Thanks for that, you obviously know more than I do, but yes I was thinking along the lines of the 81Z as far as being able to get those timbres.

Along the lines of your FX module idea, I really like the FM sounds coming out of Zebra as they also have the XMF filter which people have used to create FM timbres.

I've been mostly a preset junkie but Falcon is the first synth I'm diving into to create my own sounds, love it so far...

Hi there!

I usually take advantage of the automatic mapping feature in Falcon by using the filename. But I'm now involved in a project where I can't change the filenames. I noticed that Falcon has the ability to import based on metadata. But I can't find anywhere how that metadata is supposed to be formatted for Falcon to make use of it.
Does any of you know?

Hi
Hopefully someone can help me understand how to solve a recent issue I've been having with SoundBanks in Falcon(latest version on a Mac, Yosemite).

SB's don't appear in the SoundBank pull down in Falcon,if I go to Falcon Preferences they are all listed in the search path, all boxes for indexed and automount are checked.
Recently I cloned the sample drive they are on with CCC as my old drive was too close to full.
Should I try deleting all from the search path list and add them again?
Only the factory sounds show up when I fire up Falcon.
Thanks,
KG

Demonstrating/improvising with a granular Falcon patch I made for sharing on our Falcon forum falcontinuum.com, tweaking the available controls on the fly, having granular fun. This patch uses two soprano sax samples I played on my refurbished sax, and in a second layer a simple synth pitch-sequence with SYNC and PWM modulation.

I would call this one "Room of Mirrors'.

Yes, I like it very much.

I personally enjoy the http://falcontinuum.com/ forum too, really appreciate your hard work, putting everything together and creating the website from the ground up
Come on Falcon users, take a minute and register, here is getting really difficult to keep up with 286 pages so far.
