"Noughts" with an 'o'. "Naught" means nothing and in the north is often pronounced "nowt", while "nought" means zero. Note that "Naught" and "nought" are pronounced identically (like "nawt"), whereas "nowt" is pronounced to rhyme with "out". I'd give you nought points for getting the spelling wrong but won't, since there's naught wrong with that.

It seems that hanging out with other (better?) songwriters might turn one into a decent songwriter. From what I read about the Beatles... John Lennon didn't just want to sit back and watch Paul McCartney write all the songs, he wanted to equal him or even be better than him. But forget about those two, look at (underrated?) George Harrison. His songs are probably not all as famous nor as plentiful as Paul's and John's but maybe they are just as good?:

Something
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Here Comes The Sun
Taxman
I Need You
If I Needed Someone
Old Brown Shoe
You Like Me Too Much
Don't Bother Me
I Want To Tell You
Piggies
Think For Yourself

Love You To
Within You Without You
Blue Jay Way
The Inner Light
Long, Long, Long
Savoy Truffle
Only A Northern Song
It's All Too Much
I Me Mine
For You Blue

Here is a recently discovered music of a cover of a George Harrison song from Abbey Road (imho the best Beatles album). And so it's obviously not the actual song (lately YouTube has been deleting originals more so than before... farking heck) but it's still music I discovered... recently. Also, the last half of the George Harrison song list is new to me.

Yeah, I discoverd Ott last year. Well, one thing from Ott which is the 'Invisible Landscape Part 1' found on youtube. Have removed some of the spoken words (nice the first few times around, not so much for repeated listenings) and put it on CD for the car and kitchen. 432Hz vibes ! :P Part 2 ? Never bothered. Recently I heard a bit of 'Skylon' and it was strange to hear some of the pieces "out of context" as it were.

'naught' also means zero. US spelling of 'nought'

Note that nought nautical knots are not necessarily nothing.

yeah, she's really cool. seen her live a couple times, always puts on a good show. i love her raw playing style, to the point that i think that the guys she plays with are just "too good". i'd love to see her play with a drummer and bass player that have more of a raw/punk feel.

love this version of "I Put A Spell On You":

tbh that's one of the few Beatles songs I can listen to - the only other one I rate as highly is 'Here there and everywhere' but I prefer the Emmylou Harris cover of that.

Shugo Tokumaru. Latest album is 'Lift' (2016), also on youtube, from the record company. The music is always bright in tone, mostly acoustic, dynamic and full of funny twists.

This is live in a South Korean studio. There's also a KEXP session out there.
