Hi guys,
I cant get WASAPI Exclusive mode to work on Bitwig. I get this error "Couldn't find compatible format with AudioClient".
I have a few different interfaces to choose from and none of them will work in exclusive mode. But they will work with other applications that support exclusive such as JRiver and FL Studio. Only Bitwig refuses to work.
I have these sound card options, onboard Realtek, Asus Xonar STX and also a USB DAC (TEAC UD-H01). Im running Windows 8.1 and latest Bitwig 1.3.14. It also didn't work on the last versions either.
All of these cards support ASIO but I find it a bit slower and less stable than WASAPI. Also they will work in shared mode but I think it would be better to get exclusive working.
If anyone knows how to fix this error let me know! Cheers

I'm on a surface pro 4 here. I can't even get the option to select wasapi exclusive mode. I get what looks like a greyed out box that looks like it should be selectable with the text wasapi shared mode. No amount of clicking. dragging, or button pressing will allow me to change it to wasapi exclusive. I wonder if it's due to the fact that it's the only soundcard? I can use wasapi exclusive with Reaper on this system with amazing results. I'd really like to be able to use wasapi exclusive on my surface pro with Bitwig as well.

Hi Stamp, What is your setup? I can add it to my bug report.
OS, system spec and what sound card do you have?

Doesn't work with Win7 32bit internal soundcard and doesn't work on Win7 64bit internal soundcard, both Realtek stuff I guess.
Beta doesn't work, either.
Tested only with internal soundcard.
For external audiointerface I use asio.

Whats your machine and OS version? What sound card is it? I can add it to the thread on the beta forum if you are not on it.

Windows 10 Pro x64 Anniversary Update (fully up to date), Surface Pro 4 256GB 8GB RAM. Trying to use WASAPI with built in soundcard. I didn't make the beta sign up for V2, so am on Bitwig 1.3.15.
I have a few ASIO interfaces that I use when performing, and those work fine. Want to use WASAPI exclusive for mobile music composition. For times when I'm on the plane, subway, grabbing a few minutes at Starbucks etc... Times where it's bothersome to drag along an interface.
Don't like using asio4all, as it adds additional processing overhead, and feels like a bit of a cludge with this system. As stated above, Reaper plays very nice on this Surface Pro 4 with WASAPI exclusive. Also tested Reaper with asio4all and performance was much worse with on board Realtek soundcard vs. using WASAPI exclusive.
