Going for an atmospheric feel in this track. Produced using Ableton with Sylenth and Massive. Would this genre fall under Atmospheric Breaks?
Comments and feedbacks are greatly appreciated!
Edit: Added Pro Mix

I'm not too up on electronic music genres but it could be what you're describing.
I thought it worked well except to my ears the snare hits were a little too aggressive and a little annoying at the beginning to be in balance with the other sounds. Once it takes off it's fine.
Good work!

how can you not hear the bad pumping going on with the sidechain overcompression on this?
ugh.. many tracks would sound great if people wouldnt use it.

Yes, pretty much. Overall I like it, except for the piano-like melody (a bit simplistic and cheesy I think).Kyrpto wrote: Would this genre fall under Atmospheric Breaks?
Compression sounds fine to me but the upper midrange may be a bit too agressive.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Okay I made some revisions based on the feedbacks. I boosted the mid end and pulled back on the sidechaining a bit.

Just got this track professionally mixed. Let me know how the pro version compares to mine. Especially the kick and snare.

Are you talking about the dip in audio? If so, that's part of the watermarking.Vortifex wrote:The kick in the new version is much better. The old one was far too boomy and probably taking up way too much room in the mix. It's obvious that the EQ in the new mix has been cleaned up. However, something is being pushed too hard, listen to the kick drum at 3:09, there is audible clipping/distortion and I don't think it's intentional.
