Best (also simplest) software harmonizer today

Hi all,
I missed out on the Eventide Harmonizer software introduction price - darn! - but wonder what the best harmonizer is today (I know TC Electronic has done this, for example).
When I say best I don't necessarily mean most features or most true to the Eventide original, but in terms of sound and also ease of use, as I have very little time for creating music nowadays.
I'd like to use such a plugin mainly to create shimmering effects to vocals.
Oh - price is a concern as well.
Thanks for any input!

If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.

Thanks, I just saw your reply. I don't mean a pitch shifter but the chorusy effect, or well, maybe both.
I want to fatten up a lead vocal mainly.
Of course, I also enjoy the Eventide shimmering effect.
I am just switching to Reaper and noticed that there are some built in fx for doing things like this (reavoice and reapitch). Perhaps they will do what I want?

Pitch Proof has tonnes of artifacts but that's part of its charm I guess - I use it like a special "weirdizer" type of plugin.

Thank so much for the tips! With fattening up I actually also meant creating harmonies (like a background chorus). I was a big fan of the Roland VP70, which did exactly this: you played the chords and it would take the vocal and create harmonies according to the notes played (like a vocoder but without the vocoding effect).
I guess that this can be done today as well. Would that be reapitch perhaps, or are there other low-priced options ?

I use amplitube's harmonator. It's actually quite usable on vocal. Way less artifacts than pitchproof.

I almost forgot. There's also MharmonizerCM and Vielklang CM if you buy computer music. Haven't tried Mharmonizer, but vielklang seems pretty nice. Interestingly, it loads as VST instrument instead of effect.
