Hi people!

On Ableton Live I'd assigned a midi CC to the track volume of an audio track and I had set the Min value to -63.5 dB (x2 = 127, which is the midi range) expecting that it allows me have .5 dB steps (example: -15.0 db, -15.50 db, etc), but it doesn't, the scale differs (a CC value of 69 = 15.136 db).
Any help? If at least I could get whole steps (15.0, 16.0, etc), that will be enough for me.

Min: -63.5 dB
Max: 0.0 dB
Mode: Absolute

Cheers

The problem is the db scale of mixer faders (in general), which allows for more precise adjustments at higher volumes where it actually counts- you're at -24db halfway down the fader range. Doing what you ask would require some ~maths~ injected between the MIDI message and the mixer, not sure if some controller scripting or a plugin would solve it.

I think it has to do with MIDI resolution in the DAW. Cubase has a setting, don't know about others.
