If you can find it, I love ADT by Vacuumsound, I use it all the time, I even use it on guitars when I play live... I have it backed up, but Vacuumsound doesn't seem to exist anymore (and it was only 32bit). I recently bought Doubler from Antares because it was on special, I haven't really used it yet though.

MUnison is a very good doubler, but it does do a lot more than basic doubling.

This is a very good doubler. It can do the classic ADT sound but also a lot of other sounds. The modulation makes it sound very natural IMO.

The most overlooked one is easily Antares Harmony Engine 4.1. It's a lot like a Digitech Vocalist Live 4. You've got 4 voices you can highly customize plus a choir option. You can edit the pitch, stereo width, vibrato, many things. The Unison mode sometimes sounds the most natural. This would be my first choice, but I never use any of these alone.
Fix Doubler/Flanger is also top notch and great at sounding natural even at 50% wet.
Revoice Pro generates very believable backing vocals based on another vocal track.
There's vielklang made by zplane that I need to check out. The Elastique is very impressive with lining up your vocal harmonies just by inserting it. Better than Revoice ever worked for me.
Doubler by Waves is still good. H3000 has some useful doubling ability.
Tritik Echorus seemed promising when I tried it. Valhalla Ubermod is pretty cool.

Well Waves do have their own ADT, which is based on the Abbey Road analogue gear.mementus wrote:I am looking for a Doubler plug-in similar to waves' one.
Do you know any?
Thanks.
I personally like to use a tape-style delay in dual mono within Logic. Set different times on the left and right as well as adding different modulation settings and when using H-Delay I'm able to set different delay circuit models using the Analog switch.
The variations between the left and right all help to create something more different sounding than the original
I put this on a duplicate track and run it 100% wet and that way I have a fader I can blend it in with, plus I'm able to add in other effects if I feel it appropriate. You could also define it from the original if you felt it would help. It's also possible to freeze the track too.

My favorite doubler is currently Waves Supertap. It has some doubler presets to use as a starting point - I get better results from it than Doubler itself

I like using Exponential Audio Excalibur for doubling duties, too. I have been able to replicate the sound of the Waves ADT using it, but with quite a bit more flexibility and other effects blended it if desired. It's an awesome plugin.
I also use Valhalla Space Modulator, as well as Avon Digital Multiply (both were free). There are a lot of different ways to "double" these days!
