Alrighty, here's mine... I thought about making it longer, but at 49 instances it wasn't possible to really work with SG anymore on my machine. It's only a 12 core Xeon computer, you know. :ud:

Anyway, it's been quite some good fun while it was still fluent. The occasional, unprovoked freakouts of SG and funny GUI flips didn't take away from the overall curiosity of wrestling the oscilloscope into pretty patterns and fascinating sounds. A very artistic type of instrument, really!

THANKS, yeah, that was fun, too. But I really, really battled with the snare/snares. The master snare is just one instance, but I had to noodle it ad nauseam to wrestle down the quaky character, while still being tonal and kind of complex. The other snare was an attempt to replace the first one, using two instances, but it somehow didn't have the same snap and presence, but I still liked it and used it to give more depth to the drums.
After listening to it to the 100th time, finally accepting the sounds, I finally could focus on the overall flow of the drums and hooked in certain accents, transitions and little flares. And that was about 4 hours ago, hehehe. At that point I literally had to render out the song to really listen to it without processing stutters. :dog: ...and here we are! :party:
I've made a bunch of other percussion sounds that were quite exciting, but really couldn't expand anymore.

Hopefully there will come another update to SG, supporting envelopes on LFO parameters, which would really make percs awesome!
And, hopefully, there will be some way to optimize the routines yet some more, possibly some sort of adaptive management of computing components or the likes to help make this run a wee bit faster. :pray: ...because it can do great sounds with plenty of character! :tu:

All that for snares? Shit gotta think twice about mine now, it's just white noise and a high pitched kick stacked all lazy. I'm still trying to bang out one good cymbal too. Can never get this atonal fm bell shit to work without an op matrix to simplify it for my stupid head. Just f*ckin hopeless over here but it's nothin to all you synth pros hahaha

It depends on what you want your snare to do. It could just be a smack, then a simple construction like yours totally does the trick. But if you want it to provide a focal point of some sort with a specific character, it takes a bit of extra effort. Sometimes that's totally over the top, of course, but it just happens... to me.
With cymbals, playing with the density carefully seems very successful. Though, it seems that SG really has all its core secrets in the LFO, when it comes to conscious synthesis. The other features that look like core stuff, really are more fringe modifiers, I find.
Those only really can be controlled (in my case) by using a proper oscilloscope. And you have to understand the LFO on phase with a ramp to really take control over what's happening.

True ... the density control has lots of sweet points and it's effects at times are not "linear" in any way, wrt the sound you get. You just have to play around and nudge it a bit at a time.

Also agree that LFO modulations seem to be the key to success - greatly so in your track it seems! Beautiful things going on. Good luck - to me it's a winner all the way.

I struggled at first to get some useful sounds out of it, but after a while I found out how to tame this little beast. I really enjoyed the crazy stuff you can do with Spiral Generator and I think it has a good sound quality.

I hope you'll like it. To be honest, I'm a little proud of my entry this month :pray: :roll:

Closest to getting close to what I understand is the the essence of SG is in my opinion is still Generaldiomedes.

Very inspiring, but also very saturated or satisfied, like...I wouldn't know "what to add" so to say!?
I don't think there's any necessary mandate on being purist. The "quest" is to use a synth as sound source and do with it as you please. It's not a philosophical challenge, but a musical challenge and there's a place for any inclination in the OSC. You may also judge on your preference, but judging on narrow principles like "who did the purest piece" seems mildly out of place, if I may say so. To reduce any synth to it's pure concept would also be a waste of its full potential. The intrinsic character of a synth ordinarily always remains and inspires the resulting sounds, regardless of where you take it.
What I dislike, is if massive treatments turn every synth into a more or less good foundation for the exact same effects, like it used to happen quite a bit with them dubstep tracks, yet, even their one should appreciate the effort and specific understanding.
So...those Jerobeam things are totally awesome and exciting to look at and listening to. But I would hold absolutely nobody to that "standard". It would seem dramatically narrow minded, no?! :shrug:

p.s. that jerabeam stuff is very interesting, it would probably be good to listen to it once in a while for inspiration.
