Hi Zombie Queen,

curious about the video, will have a look as soon as I am back from work :D .

Seems you had right idea in case of kontakt problem in waveform:
Do you have "Options -> Run Audio Engine When Stopped" turned on? It could be that Kontakt needs the process method to be called to respond to buttons etc?
This seems to solve the problem for me, I still have to start the play engine one time after opening kontakt window but the midi recording/sequencer start/stop works then when play engine is stopped.

Solves a bunch of problems in other kontakt libs (like audiofier, xosphere) too.

I watched quite a bit of the video and learned some more good things.
In example, you delete the on-board samples. Was that step necessary?
I would like to see a video like this also for melodic material if you think it would be worth your time to make. Maybe you already did one.

+1 :tu:

Incredibly useful video. Loving Cracklefield a lot. I was thinking of gate time today and find I can do that by automating the step time or by an external processor. Cracklefield is a real stimulus to creative thought on process

Looks like this site is dead. The download links don't work!

Similar in algorithms but not really the same to use. I have had nova3 for a long time but did not get into it whereas Cracklefield clicked with me straight away. Interface design appeals much more to me anyway. Tonecarver has made some great stuff though.

OOPS you are right

Great. Good to hear.

Not necessary at all. I just wanted the random preset generator to use the newly added groups only.

It's not different, but I will do one tonight. Maybe without comments, as I may not have another 10 hours to render them...

That video was very helpful also, thanks.

It is rather unexciting 13 minutes, as I go copying sounds from factory library. But maybe it will be a bit helpful in how to approach this.

Looks like same process is repeated for 11 minutes and actual musiking techniques come afterward if anyone wants to skip ahead.

Yes, probably not a good idea, I got stuck in a loop. I understood, you'd like to see if it's any different to add melodic sounds.

Anyway, here's something more interesting, trying out different cursor types:

Really helpful and interesting videos, thanks Zombie Queen.
I'm going to buy this in a few minutes.

I note the video for exporting midi to vst synths on page 2 of this thread, and I'm happy to adopt that method.
However, and it might be beyond the scope of this Kontakt instrument, is there anyway to link its output up to a vst synth, for example Zebra, whilst it is still immediately playing/sequencing the notes? (Sorry if this is a bit thick, I'm just trying to get my head round Cracklefield fully).

Cheers.

Yes, but only as one channel, that is, all notes generated by (any instruments) scripts loaded to one instance of Kontakt go out to one MIDI channel. Check Kontakt options>engine>send MIDI to outside world and make sure "script generated notes" is checked.
The drag'n'drop export purpose is mainly to be able to export multichannel.

Sorry, no, I meant working with melodic in cotrast to percussion, but I think there's enough info to go on already (unless you want to share more tricks).
