Wouldn't recommend this one. It's essentially a list of sounds you do via samples instead nowadays... and very basic settings. No technique or tips'n tricks. I bought it several years ago expecting something in the way of Simon Cann's book - it isn't.

Dance Music Manual - Rick Snowman was like a bible to me when I was just coming out of beginner stage.

It was this thread were I came across "Unlocking the Groove". I didn't directly help with production, but a fascinating read none the less.
