Hi

Just briefly looking at what UAD stuff brings to plugins etc.

Tricky though if to run 10x normal speed to hardware - does that work.
Offline rendering do that to VST instruments native code, but once hardware is involved this is kind of limitation.

All external midi gear to mention one example.

I remember Avid folks mentioned one of challenges with PT 11 HD hardware was to make that possible.

If running project at 96k and is to do that 10x speed, means bandwidth must be equally larger on that hardware.

Thanks, just curious how this works. It's a bummer if you need to render everything realtime, I mean.

Works like any other VST-plugin. You can render offline, no problem.

Only difference is that you can overload a cpu with normal VST's and still render offline. You cant with UAD cards.

Sounds cool, thank you.

Then it's just number of instances you might need that you need to think about.

Yep. Some of their stuff is pretty hungry in terms of UAD cores. Be sure to check the instance-chart before buying a plugin from them.

Thanks again - will do.

The ssl 4000 console is a monster CPU eater. I used it for a while but then I found the nerve 88rs both sounds better to my ears and allows me to use one on most every track in a project.

I also want to add that the lexicon reverb and emt 250 reverbs are must own plugins.

In Reaper you can render any UAD plugin and save DSP and recall it if necessary. I really enjoy that feature.

Can also confirm that you can freeze in Logic as well to free up some Sharcs

Thanks for input SAP, good to know.
