To convert from stereo to mono . Just wanted to put this on the master bus so that i can work on the mix as mono .
Brainworx Solo (costs an account creation) has a width control which narrows everything to mono - but not all monos are the same.
And I do wish people would at least state their daw - Cubase does this either via the Control Room or the linked panners, no plugin required.

From the manual:

Stereo Combined Panner  (Cubase Pro only) With the stereo combined panner, the left and right pan controls are linked and keep their relative distance if you move them. It is available for channels with a stereo input and output configuration.
• To activate this panner, open the context menu for a pan control and select Stereo Combined Panner.
• To set the pan independently for the left and right channels, hold down Alt and drag left or right.
• To reverse the left and right channels, pan the left channel to the right and the right to the left. The area between the pan controls changes the color to indicate that the channels are reversed.
• To sum two channels, set them to the same pan position (mono). Note that this increases the volume of the signal.
A wet• To specify the default stereo panner mode for new audio tracks, select File  > Preferences  > VST.
Use the panner on the stereo out...
Also:
At the bottom of the Control Room panel there is a big button labeled "Stereo" - this toggles stereo/mono output.

If you have cubase use the stereo enhancer plugin. It has a mono button right in the center of the gui. :dog:

Plenty of ways to skin this cat.

This is my favourite (mid/side buttons):

It's great for not only monitoring mid/mono but certain frequency ranges too.

Boz do the free WidthKnob, if you don't like your DAW's stereo width control :clown:

Ultimately most of these tools just chop the side signal to give you the mid/mono - but you can also "fold" down to mono ("true mono" you might call it), which actually collapses/converts the sides into the mid mono. The only one I have that does that is Mathew Lane StereoDelta. Sounds a bit weird bringing the outermost reverb tails into the centre though sometimes.

I usually use mono maker in bx_control

Voxengo MSED is a pretty good one too, and free.

Mono is so key to a pro sound. You are right on track.
First and foremost: We need great songs (again)

Your DAW probably has a mono/stereo button on each channel (including the master buss.)
If not, use MAAT 2BusControl.

Avoid Brainworx bx_solo because it does not work as expected when used cross-platform.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Reviving a 4 year old thread…🤦‍♂️
I wonder what happens if I press this button...
