Hey everyone,
can anyone help? i've got a bcf2000, firmware updated to 1.6, latest usb driver but for some reason xp won't see the MIDI ports on it. it sees the bcf in the device manager but no midi ports appear anywhere, cubase, bcfview etc.
I've got a dual boot system and it works on the other boot (not my music one!), both boots are from the same basic xp installation and i can't find what the difference between the two is. Anyone else had any problems with the drivers at all?

Thanks,

Bulley

You mean in the BCFview you can see "BCF2000[1]" device or nothing that has anything to do with the BCF at all??? Or, can you see "BCF2000[1]" but can't use the midi ports on it???

hey,

in bcf view there's nothing bcf related at all. When i just use the standard windows driver i get usb audio device, but i can't use cubase sx, the bcf and bcfview together, properly (cubase doesn't respond to bcf fader movements) like that. Presumably cos them drivers aren't multiclient.

thanks,

first start cubase, then start the viewer, then it works.

the manual is wrong on that point, there they say that you have to start the viewer first.

you have to install the newest usb driver on the behringer site.

i would try that but when i install the lastest usb driver, that's when the midi ports disappear.

go to hardware devices in xp
check the corresponding usb drivers and click update on the driver. That should do the trick.

when i do that, thats when the ports disappear. It's when i change from standard windows usb driver to the behringer one that they go.

thanks again.

Ok, normally when I boot up my computer and switch on the BCF, the BCF shows up in the "remove devices" icon in the taskbar next to the clock... If I click on the icon, it reads
"BCF(V1.1.1.0) driver" or whatever like that

That shows that I have the WinXP driver installed... Previously, it will just read "USB device" without the WinXP driver installed...

Can you confirm that this is what you see???

the only thing i can think of is that you have an usb hub connected to your computer, it sounds like you have a lot of usb gear connected to your computer. an usb connection only have a limited bandwith available. if you have connected to many usb gear the latest machine will not appear in your machine. Try removing some of the other usb machines.

this is a really strange problem.

Hello,

I don't know if it would be the same with the BCF, but here with the BCR it works on the generic XP USB midi driver and everything goes fine.
You could try removing the behringer driver and see first if it works on that.

Hmm... If you can see the BCF in device manager, I really can't see why you can't do it on the BCFview??? Maybe try Behringer support as this thing is beyond me...

Good luck!!!

Hello everybody...
I`ve got BCF 2000 today, and at this moment I am quite sure that is an excelent piece of gear, on its price. It is a little bit difficult to set up everything to work fine - mu suggestions to newbies, and everyone having problems are:
1. Install USB/MIDI driver 1.1.1.0. It is a must.
2. Dump firmware 1.06 into the BCF (yeah!)
I had a problem with behringers dump utility, so I did it just with Cubase.
3. Be patient Smile

The only problem that I still have is:
When Cubase SX2.01 runs Mackie Emulation, it sends some kind of timecode via MIDI, which uses a lot of resources, and on lower latencies clicks occur. Does anyone know is it normal for software to constantly send timecode to a Mackie device Question

thanks...
