Greetings all :)

I've been searching around for this old freebie, but not finding it... anyone know the fate of it?

Reference: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/vintag ... audio_line

Its not to be seen or heard of on his site now....

I think Elek7ro was the successor and as such probably superior in every way.

Yep. Not much point in using Vintager anymore, or Elek7ro. Actually, Vintager sounds quite bad, IIRC.

When I was still using freeware, I actually liked Elektro more than Noisemaker. Noisemaker seems more distant from Elektro and Vintager in my view.

Well, thanks for the history lesson, will dig into those as well. However, add some OSL chorus to the bass patches in vintager, sounds pretty darn fat. Still great plugs from a great Dev. 8)

Free or pay, its how it sounds :D

it actually sounds quite good for old school funk bass when you run it through chorus LX
it has a great snappy filter. and uses almost no CPU.

i'll use it for that reason over say, SPIRE for that purpose.

Or, he has different tastes in music and just doesn't prefer its sound. It doesn't mean he's deaf, nor full of BS.

Well, if you prefer TAL-Vintager over Spire, then you're certainly deaf, and full of BS. :P
