Whats the most cost effective way of getting hold of the KONTAKT full (player)...?

I have got the Kontakt 5 free player, but there are a ton of sample libraries out there that require the Kontakt full player, and won't work just with the Kontakt free player.
Kontakt5 on the NI website is $399 or something, but it comes with a whole slew of instruments I'm not bothered about. Do NI just sell the full player by itself?
Or, whats the most cost effective way of getting hold of the full player, - buy Kontakt4 pre-owned or something like that?

Thanks. The sennheiser drumica is no longer on the list of qualifying products for crossgrade. But the idea is good. I'll look out for qualifying crossgrade products as good value prices.experimental.crow wrote:there's this , for one ...

THIRD-PARTY LIBRARIES FOR KONTAKT PLAYER
Some of the world's best sound design companies and instrument manufacturers create their own instruments with KONTAKT. And they all run in the free KONTAKT PLAYER. All the products on the following page qualify for the KONTAKT 5 crossgrade.

Yes, you are in fact right. I was just looking at the "featured" instruments. On the side panel there is the extensive list. This is a good start.experimental.crow wrote: i believe you are mistaken ...
Do Native Instruments have their crossgrades on sale price on Black Fridays?

Even crossgrades? So basically with Drumica, the crossgrade price is $249, and on Black Friday, its half that.egbert101 wrote:It's usually on sale 50% every year on Black Friday weekend.
So we can pick up Kontakt5 for ~$124.

On black friday (third week of november) NI starts a 50% sale on individual products. SO you will get it for 200 USD.
Or get it second hand.

Yes. $124.50 I picked it up the same way with the Drumica crossgrade offer earlier this year on their 50% off summer deal. The Sennheiser site was in German and it was a bit of a pain to navigate though.Bansaw wrote:Even crossgrades? I wonder if people sell Kontakt5 crossgrades on KVR?festeringheap wrote:Yes. $124.50 I picked it up the same way with the Drumica crossgrade offer earlier this year on their 50% off summer deal. The Sennheiser site was in German and it was a bit of a pain to navigate though.
I had a look at the instruments that come with Kontak5* and they are not appealing to me. I'm just interested in the full version of the sample player, since there are many good libraries out there that require the full player not the free player.

Unfortunately you already missed the summer upgrade sale and they don't do it every summer. That would have been the time to get Drum'ica and then do the 50% off cross grade. The Black Friday sale will likely be 50% off full version price so $200. Note that the sales are not entirely predictable and might be for products other than Kontakt. Depending on your needs and assuming 50% off for Black Friday, you might be better off with Komplete at $300.
