I was happy with Live... then I wanted to get a Linnstrument to use MPE which Live is blind to...

so I switched to Bitwig which I quite like. However, it's MPE implementation is not complete so until it is...

I switched to Logic which does MPE exactly as I expect and I am happy with it. It has the added bonus of Alchemy and Sculpture (both MPE capable).

Finally happy with Cubase 9 Pro! I've been having random hangs/freezes that started about a year after I got my MOTU Ultralite Mk3 Hybrid (USB). Back then it was on Cubase 7.5 (or 8 ) and Windows 7. But the problem migrated to a fresh install of Windows 10 & Cubase 9.
I tried almost everything - but this afternoon I finally solved it; turning ASIO Guard off!! :dog:
I'm sure it had something to do with the MOTU/drivers, and I should've replaced it with an RME - but that would've been an expensive solution. :( (though I don't know if 2 years of troubleshooting was worth it)
Edit: the above didn't work, but I think I found it: disable Motu Audio WAVE in Device Manager, and also all inputs (in Device Manager). Cubase has been running all afternoon without locking up. Just when I was about to order that RME.

Anyway, I love Cubase for performance, especially combined with hardware synths. I also use FL Studio, mostly for sound design (resampling, patcher chains).

Unrelated: I also just got the Kontrol Editor for NanoKontrol2 working under Windows 10. First time after installation it worked fine. But after that, the controller selection screen wouldn't show up. Turns out it was Defender - adding an exclusion or disabling it did the trick.

I'm always great at troubleshooting everyone else's problems; but the few times I run into something it's always a weird/obscure thing and no amount of googling or contacting support is helpful.

My biggest gripe with B1 is fades and incompatible plugins that work on B2, also the fact it's already abandoned by the devs and probably 3rd party ones too... Other than that, for the right price I just might go for it, does the job nonetheless.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Define "Happy"!

Fact is that every DAW has pros and cons. The important thing is how much are you personally with your workflow and needs affected by the pros and cons. That makes the final assessment very subjective and difficult when comparing DAWs. Don't just ask people what DAW they are using and if they like it. Ask what they are specifically doing with their DAW first.

In addition, the whole topic is a moving target. Users bitching about a lack of a specific feature in DAW xyz, is obsolete if the new update just added that feature.

Hope with direct brain link. I'll be like over 60 by then, so let's hope the system requirements for that have no age limit

I'm guessing people will still whine about things that are not supporting 32 bit, regardless.

Yep very happy with thanks.

Yes. Got Ableton almost a year ago and have been very happy. Met my needs for live use.

Using Bitwig primarily for creation. The most fun I’ve had making music and a long time with the modulation. I also use FL studio for remixing and The fantastic piano roll. Also using Live Suite a good amount, although not as much as Bitwig and FL as it’s starting to feel a bit old in comparison. Fingers crossed the looming Live X will change that :)

Otherwise I can’t complain. I’m happy. Should I be using 3 daws? Probally not but oh well :hihi:

Longtime FL user and mostly, yes. Knowing it well certainly helps! The FL 13 possibilities look promising as well. I am thinking about adding Reaper into the mix as well...
