Actually, with two recent releases of distressor emulations there is a lot of praise for this specific compressor.
Since i never worked with the hardware (but with some hardware units that the distressor itself emulated somehow) i'm wondering if it has qualities soundwise, which can't be achieved by the Presswerk
(which still is my favorite compressor in most situations).
My question relates mostly to measurable / technical / "physical" aspects... i.e. behaviour/characteristics or obtainable results.
Or are there Presswerk settings which allow to get the same (or mostly the same) results as the different distressor settings?

Not sure if it helps, but the Presswerk project originally started out as Fatso-inspired plug-in. IIRC the only things that's left from that is the Warmth knob, which still kinda does the same thing.
