A few people have tried, but I believe you will need programming ability and familiarity with build systems to get it to work.krabbencutter wrote: By the way: would it be possible, to compile VCV for a RaspberryPi?

I haven't been near my computer much lately, but 0.4.0 is working much better for me; all of the modules load without crashing. The audio interface module still takes forever to load, but it all works. I haven't tried any of the third-party modules yet. One oddity I've found is when modulating a VCO's pulsewidth (or wave form, for VCO 2) with an LFO sine or triangle, when the pulsewidth reaches its maximum value, it stays there for a long time compared with the rest ot its cycle. I'm not sure if the issue is with the VCOs or LFOs, but it's not the behavior one would expect.

It sounds like you're overmodulating the pulse width. If the PW knob is at 12-o-clock and you send a rising voltage to the PWM input, it will reach its maximum at 5V and anything higher than that will keep it at maximum. Play with the PW knob or switch to Bi mode on the LFO.

I found one thing - if I open a new module on a screen connected to my Nvidia card (using Nvidia web driver) it's "censored", if I open the same module on a screen connected to my on-board card it's fine. So it's connected to the Nvidia card. The "censored" modules stay censored, and the ok modules stay ok after creation.PALU wrote:Can I help to debug it?vortico wrote:Ha, that looks like Rack-censored version. No idea, and that's the first time I've seen that issue.
(I'm on a custom built Mac with two monitors - so two screens)

I'll have to try that when I get home from work. Chalk it up to operator error.vortico wrote:It sounds like you're overmodulating the pulse width. Switching the LFO to Bi mode solved the problem. I hadn't even noticed that switch until I read your post.DocAtlas wrote:I'll have to try that when I get home from work. Another way of doing it: turn the PW knob all the way down with the LFO in Uni mode.

Great piece of software. Stable on my Laptop but very CPU intensive (old i5) however - two questions. (1) Will VCV Rack stay freeware with v1? (2) How do you guys record the output as long as the VCV-Bridge is unavailable?
TIA

"Freeware" sounds like 90's spyware. Yes, it will remain free open source software. Commercial modules will begin to be sold at https://vcvrack.com/ when Rack v1.0 is released.

Can you give us a hint of the intended price-range?
