hey! can you recommend me a good vst/max device/reaktor ensemble capable of doing granular stuff like in this song:
granulator by the monolake guy is fine, looking for something with maybe some more capabilities. can be a commercial plugin as well ofc.

Well unless you prepared to spend upwards of $200 on a more rounded
plugin with granular functionality, e.g. Falcon or Avenger, PadShop is
really the only playable choice.

Mangle or Polygon are alternatives, but they are both pretty heavy with character
imposed by their designs. E.g. not really standard granular fare...
There are also effect types, like the Melda Productions MGranular or whatever.
These are not going to be as flexible soundwise as a dedicated synth however.

Twisted Tools are doing great Reaktor instruments!
Definitely worth a look.
There’s even this one for free so you could see if it fits what you’r looking for.

The Mangle is great and such a bargain. New Sonic Arts' Granite is fantastic also.

GrainSpace is great if you want the feel of the Clouds module in Eurorack:

Don't forget the awesome Granite
https://www.newsonicarts.com/html/granite.php
And the venerable Granulab will always have a place in my heart being the first granular software I used 20 years ago, don't let its age put you off (Windows)

For M4L I really like Density

Argotlunar, say no more

sounds like sounds put through granular effects rather than a granular synth.

Also this for Max for Live. Looks amazing. Sadly I don't have M4L, hoping for a Black Friday sale, just so that I can buy this

This is also what I figured out hence the Twisted Tools recommandation.
Buffeater Lite can also be used as an fx while feeding it with audio.
Pretty much rhythmic stuff mangling in this track.

Audio Thing The Orb, a granular plugin? Seems a filter plugin to me from the description, not a granular effect...thecontrolcentre wrote:Inear Display - Litote

You will be able to do it very soon for free using Clouds in VCVrack, as soon as the bridge plugin is released.
Otherwise, Crusher-x really is the daddy of granular plugins, though the others mentioned above are all good. I particularly like Granite.

Ribs is awesome for realtime granular stuff. Kontakt is also handy for most of what I heard in your example. Making something like this in reaktor is easier than you might think provided that you have your input sounds ready. The granular end of that song was pretty simplistic. From what I heard it was mostly lots of distorted drum hits and synth noises run through some granular processing. If you have reaktor just load a bunch of these types of sounds into a grain cloud module and go to town with simple envelope and sample and hold modulations. Should get you going quickly.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
