Hi ,
I am having pauses in cubase during play back . I tried increasing the buffer size as well but still facing the same problem .
I use focusrite 2i4 ..
I downloaded a driver which was Focusrite USC ASIO Audio
I have around 50 audio tracks in my session .
It's causing me a lot of hinderance during mixing .
Can someone help me to resolve this ?
Thanks

Were you running this exact same setup before without problems? Has something changed on your system recently?
Try a different USB port (Preferably USB2).

I use USB 2 only ..
I updated the driver I guess ..
It's the latest driver from Focusrite I guess .
But it was working fine .
Not sure what the problem is .

Just for troubleshooting I would try(one thing at a time):
Have the Cubase performance meters on screen and maybe also task manager Performance tab to see if related to load peaks.
a) turn off asio guard
A special kind of processing ahead.
b) lower latency - do you need 1024 samples not to get crackles?
I have a vague memory reading about somebody having issues unless they lowered buffer settings.
c) Size of projects - same with any size project?
Are you using audio stretching to tempo or similar, try to freeze those tracks. Real heavy load.
d) any particular plugin that cause load - try freeze one or many synths
You mention audio tracks - but are there VST instruments as well, maybe.
Just some ideas....

No Audio streatching/tempo stretching used .
The track version says 03 on the track name .. does it mean there are 2 versions of the same track already ?
I don't see the them in the track version list on the left side .

Sometimes having a lot of fx processors can be detrimental. Try disabling them and see if that helps.
Sometimes, too many tracks playing at the same time can cause problems.
A butch cpu helps, too.

No your setup is fine. Make SURE you are using the ASIO driver. Also make sure you are using the correct drivers for your hardware version. The version 2 drivers DO NOT work with version 1 hardware and vice-versa.
Turn OFF ASIO guard. And lower your buffer size to 512.
And...upgrade to 9.5, it is better, ha.
