Buchla 259e Twisted Waveform Generator for modular

Being able to connect Reaktor and Modular together in a single patch is great. I wonder if it will be possible to do the same once the VCV bridge is out so that we can use the Mutable Instruments & Befaco modules together with Modular.

Is the connection between them at audio rate? or control rate?

It's my understanding in Reaktor that audio rate is indicated by the white color cables and outputs, and control rate is indicated by yellow cables and outputs.

The inputs on blocks are yellow by default but I think they are designed to be interchangeable because if you plug the white (audio rate) cable into a blocks input, it turns white.

Most outputs on blocks I've seen are white, except for Note In, Trig In, and some on Kodiak. So if you connect the pitch and gate output from the Note In block right to an audio outlet (and into Modular) you probably wouldn't get the result you want. You would probably use the Pitch CV Out block instead.

Beyond that, all the LFO, VCO, VCA, sequencer blocks, yadda yadda with white outputs have been working well with Modular, in my experience.

Interesting sounds, what reverb are you using?

I'm still thinking wether to get this or not, it's super fun to play with, but not necessarily my cup of tea when it comes to using sounds on actual tunes.

I'm using the Softube Tsar-1 reverb. It's a very versatile reverb. The density knob can change the sound from modern to vintage reverb. It integrates in Modular.

I don't see Modular (and especially Buchla) as an instrument I play 'realtime' in my compositions. Modular is more a sound generator. In Cubase I record everything I do in Modular (see also a workflow Future Music video with Thijs de Vlieger from Noisia). And then I use those sounds in samplers, wavetable and granular synths or just as loops. I made a video about my workflow in Cubase and Halion:

The general rule is that for blocks , everything should be audio .
But smartass , newbie kids dont care about this ad thus destroying the block framework by uploading their blocks made out of primary modules and event rate connection.
Then some complain why certain blocks sound like shit .

Most of us saw this happen from the start .
Blocks ( audio processing ) should always be made in core / always @ audio rate ...
And yes, creating blocks requires in depth knowledge of reaktor core

I'm not surprised to hear that. Most of the community built blocks I've tried are from contributors like Michael Hetrick. It goes without saying that he's made an enormous contribution of high quality blocks that users are lucky to have for free.

I am absolutely in heaven with this stuff. When this library is done it's going to be massively huge. There is no shortage of ideas.
