You know, I'm looking back over this thread and was wondering if I put Native Instruments on my list. I did. And I'm reminded today why.
I just bought K12U and they have made the whole process so ridiculously easy. I'm almost done downloading and installing the whole thing in one day.
Top notch company in my book.

My 10/10 goes to u-he. Quality, great sound and good customer relations aside, I also appreciate their transparent and consistent discount and pricing policy (no sales after release, which avoids devaluing purchases) and their Linux support. Still on Windows, but it’s just a matter of time.

Versilian Studios (VSCO Pro) - A class act in every way
NuSofting (Modelonia, Knagalis, Noisetar, etc.) - a unique, nice and fair craftsman
SPC Plugins (ArcSyn) - a true synth lover, inventive and straightforward
KV331 Audio - a master at doing one thing very well
Every developer of free software qualifies, but for sheer dedication:
Full Bucket (Nabla, FB-3300 and many more x-platform)
Greenoak (Crystal, updated for iPad)

I have a lot, but these guys really stand out currently-
Dmitry Sches- Quick with updates and fixes, listens to community
Vengeance- Current, always improving their product
Orangetree- I mean really...does it get much better than Greg?
Air- These guys take some heat, and yet really deliver some good, underrated, and inexpensive products
This is my hit list...bottom of the barrel-
Izotope- Overpriced updates, weird support, abandoned products
To be fair, there are a lot of mid-range companies that I have a love/hate relationship with. In the end we all have varying circumstances calling for different approaches from the manufacturer.

Interesting - you're making me very glad I went all in on Fabfilter and zero in on Izotope. I had a feeling about it, but is there a strong market competitor to RX at the moment?thejonsolo wrote:
