@TNS
I also used the TDR Compressor II on the master to glue stuff, followed by the Classic Master Limiter (very basic, but that's all I wanted at this point in the chain!).

For other non-OSC tracks I like Stillwell's Bombadier compressor for glueing - nice sound! I then follow that with Waves L3.

If Dmitry would add a little entry in the noise source menu called "adc" or "audio input", we could do the whole mastering with the synth plug-in itself...;-)
But seriously, that would open a whole new way of modularity with such a tool. Probably even not too complicated to implement. Imagine... I let the imagination up to you...;-)
I always get these crazy ideas...

I think Steinberg has built that with Retrologue 2: Synth with Audio-In...not a bad idea

Thorn is a great synth.

Here is:

3:45

produced in Ableton Live using only 10 instances of Thorn synth
(you may download the 192 CBR mp3 for better quality than streaming)

effects used Ableton EQs, Reverb, Delay, Vocoder (as EQ on percussions).

Amazing synth! An absolute delight to work with..

15 instances of Thorn
4 x Channel EQ
1 x Gain
1 x Compressor
1 x Multipressor
1 x Limiter
(these are just my regular mastering stack - Thorn's built-in effects are so good there's no real need even for the extra EQs above)

Yeah Rob, I need to look into Bombardier. Rocket is one that I've almost pulled the trigger on. Slate Bus Compressors and MJuc seem to be my most used and abused these days, along with Ozone 7.

Here's my updated track. Hopefully those who liked and made comments on the earlier version think of it as an improvement. All patches from scratch. Same link, different day.

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

I replaced my original entry with a new version. Added some details, re-balanced the mix a bit and switched up a few parts.

I say thanks for your track. As soon as I've listened to your track today, I remembered one of your earlier tracks that was clearly a winner too, and I thought, damn, that is just again so...so "5 points"...may be this time it's going to be top 5!

Had no idea Reaper had one of these.

ok
my track is not finished, but unfortunately i think it will stay that way.
I need to fix the toms, cymbals, mastering and a few things, but my little girl is sick at the moment, and her mum's gonna be away till the 1st, so daddy is on full time duty.

so enjoy, as much as you can, crank the volume, put your dancing socks on, and enjoy...
my ramble through the brambles
hopefully next challenge I'll have better timing ;)
anyways
Thanks for listening!

I'll make the patches and Cubase file available for download asap...

24 instances of Dmitry Sches' Thorn

I also used 1 x TDR Kotelnikov and 1 x George Yohng W1 Limiter on the master buss, just to bring the level up a bit.

Not an submission, just a 1 hour of work sketch of my Thorn presets...you should only go and listen if your sub is in good shape.

https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/ephe ... rn/s-MX08t

Toonertik has asked how many instances I have used:
It's 9 instances only. One is for the taiko, one for the Arp, one is used only twice for some phrase starts. At most you're listening to only 6 pad instances all evolving with their pattern...to get an impression check out the track pic. The complexity in the sound comes from the clever sound design, each sound evolves and brings in some subtle changes and tiny nuances that add up to this wall of sound...
For instance you hear a rythmic thing later in the track - After I have imported some samples of an massive extract (massive the synth) I have replaced one slot with a simple square and let an LFO scan thru the slots. Voila you have an rhythmic element without glitch or arp...

Here's my second go. All but one patch is custom.

DAW: Bitwig 2.2.2

11 Thorn instances.

DAW Effects:
Transient control
5-band EQ x 2
Compressor x 3
Reverb (very light, on drums).

3rd-party Effects:
iZotope Ozone Imager x 2

Update (11/26): Worked on imaging, smoothing out high harmonics, overall blend, more punch on drums.
