Neutron has replaced TrackSpacer 2 for me.
Neutron has the advantage of being able to set a certain frequency that you want to be able to sidechain. And you can then broaden or narrow the Q like in a normal EQ. In addition, it's able to tell you which frequencies that clash the most. This is super helpful I find.
And I believe it's currently on sale

when I got trackspacer I done this little ditty purely to test it. I used it to stop any clashing on kick and bass and then again very subtle over the kick/bass group and rest of track. Not much else mixing was done. Ignore the actual music and mixing content as I was just throwing down some noises to see how it works.
Turned out ok for a knocked up in 10 mins kinda way.

I have a few plugs that I really like and always use. Trackspacer, Soothe, La petite Excite and Grainspace.

thanks soothe is on my wantlist!
thanks, neutron is too expensive though :/ i got already a vast array of eq's, i just am curious about the ducking option, the sidechain sounds really nice, which neutron version do you use? i saw there is exciter etc. included which is too much.Armadillo wrote:Neutron has replaced TrackSpacer 2 for me.

SideChaining isn't gonna get u the same Result
Sure Sidechaining a Compressor can do the "de-esser" thing but its usually only a Handfull of Frequencies
Trackspacer is more Like a Match EQed Sidechain
Signal Going thru a multiband (32 band i think) Compressor

Trackspacer is a 32-band dynamic equalizer with individual side chains for each band. I don’t think you’ll find something similar, or get similar results with a 7-band dynamic EQ.

MSpectral dynamics does the same thing. You can choose the number of bands, but forgot what the maximum is(512 I think). It can be used for a lot of other things too and is IMO an amazing tool, but it takes longer to figure out. Its also more expensive.

Somehow melda vsts always turn me off.... mayve i shouls check them out again. I tested nova yesterday and it was behavin laggy and not so desired i dunno also 7 bands are less effectice for such a kind. Neutron seems also less banded so far it seems trackspacer 2 it will be then today. This concept is simple but really good. I made a fat snare and kick in a well mixed project even a bit more fatter with routing to the bass and 20% wet setting. Subtle but noticable and nearly no pumping hear/none. But 2 instances trackspacer was raising the cpu 14%... this gives me worries.

I’ve never tried it, but if you’re concentrating on the low end, you could high shelf a 7-band dynamic EQ above 0.5-1k, and then have 6 bands free to use below that. Of course, Trackspacer is a bit simpler to set up.

I use Trackspacer a lot, it's great, so easy and effective. Try it out and see what you think, I also have Neutron but Trackspacer is quite different.

Sonible smart comp has the best sidechain of any tool I’ve used.
Sweetsonics Laser, which I have to is very good.
Both use way less CPU than Trackspacer, which I also have.
