How t duplicate/ clone a sound?

i know its a very simple thing but I don't know how to (just starting). How do you duplicate or clone any sample in the sequence

At a guess, highlight the clip, click somewhere to copy it, move your cursor position, then paste.

Perhaps you could let us know what software you're using. Many posters include details of their set-up in their signature on here so they don't have to keep remembering to add it each time they post.

I was about to go into a whole thing about layering different synths to capture certain elements of the sound of another... but no, you actually just want to know how to copy a sample. whoops. You should be able to ctrl+click+drag, or click it and ctrl+c/ctrl+v.
