Thanks for the report ;) I think I'm going to consider seriously getting one... I'll talk with the Bela guys in London at the Audio Developer Conference in November

They have now clang 3.8, so I need to check it as well.
Still a really old swig version, though, same for boost (1.55)...

Bela developer here, resurrecting this old thread to share a major development since our original Kickstarter campaign. Today we released Bela Mini, a new version of Bela that keeps the same ultra-low-latency performance, 1GHz processor, and audio/sensor connectivity in a package one third the size:

http://blog.bela.io/2018/02/22/bela-mini-launch/

In the time since we released Bela, we've also added a lot of new software features including support for audio languages like SuperCollider (in addition to C/C++ and Pd) and an improved browser-based IDE with in-browser oscilloscope. The latest is on our main site: http://bela.io. You can also see some projects that people have made with Bela at http://blog.bela.io -- the things people have been making include synths and instruments, audio effects, interactive installations, wearable computing projects and more.

I'll keep half an eye on this thread if anyone has any questions, or you can drop us a line at info@bela.io.

What's the current state of Csound on the Bela? (FWIW, I'd suggest you post a couple to Rory Walsh, who's doing some insane stuff embedding CSound for realtime useage)
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

There's a build of Csound for Bela put together by Victor Lazzarini, Bernt Isak Waerstad and others. I haven't tested it myself, but Victor says it is working, and we have worked with him to get a number of the Bela-specific issues sorted out (especially dealing with the Xenomai environment). You can find the code here:

https://github.com/csound/csound/tree/f ... ltime/Bela

We still need to think about how we might integrate Csound into the IDE, so at the moment this is more suited for people who want to try out new things and are willing to work in the terminal. But hopefully more updates soon!

Also nice thing since last time I checked it, the compiler got updated to something decent (also with decent system libraries).
Still struggling to get decent speed and native floating point capabilities though.
