I just need a bass/mid/high band splitter that is as transparent as possible (and not linear filtered, because they are not the most transparent here imho).

I want to use it to chain effects in my DAW inside a chainer plugin. Any idea? Maybe even freeware?

My go-to for band splitting is the free RS-MET CrossOver (32-bit only, but I think(?) it's also included as part of the 64-bit RS-MET Toolchain). It uses Linkwitz-Riley filtering with an adjustable slope.

I'm not sure which kind of linear filters you dislike, but wouldn't the most transparent splitter need to be linear by definition, in order to have output always summing to unity?

YesI need 64bit, but sound nice. Will check it out. Thanks.

Linear phase filter...Pre-ringing in the bass. Can't stand it.

This looks cool - you are limited to the included effects though I think.

Cannot comment on perceived transparency but this works well for me:

What exactly is your qualifier for "transparent"cause you say you don't want linear phase which is the very definition of transparent (it doesn't have group delay in the sound,it exhibits itself as "pre-ringing",tight low frequencies, zero smearing of the actual transient or bass transient events)minimum phase is the complete opposite of transparent (lots of group delay if you use more than 2 crossovers with slopes above 12dB,"ruins" transients, slows down the perception of low frequencies cause of group delay again)there's also "analog"phase like what the crossovers in the Izotope plugins use and the Sonoris multiband comp (best crossovers if not minimum phase in my opinon)most external crossovers you are going to find though are likely going to use garden variety filter designs to do crossovers i imagine,so if your definition of transparent is minimum phase, then any of these previous suggestions should fit your criteria

I don´t know, what you want to do after Multiband splitting, but you should consider this:

- Band splitting doesn´t make sense without further processing after splitting in individual bands...
- If so, the individual processing will alter the sounds of the single bands by million times more than any crossover filters (even the worse) will do...

I understand, that linear phase filters are often not the right choice, but don´t worry too much about transperency of minimum phase filters... after processing you will not hear them anyway...

I use the Hornet one and the one that comes free with Metaplugin. Though if I wasnt already using a modular subhost for the routing etc, I'd probably get the BlueCat MB-7.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

... which are very good. Plus multipass has plenty of internal modulations. This I would also recommend.
