I so detest these contests that force you to spam everyone you know just for a chance at winning. Either that or you have to set up a fake account with no followers, just to scam the people running the contest. Not exactly a great set of options.

Where's the problem when noone forces you to participate? Of course it is a marketing ploy. What else did you expect? Free gifts for christmas from Santa?
