Seems we have different experience. I learned new stuff every single time I sent something for mastering. That little EQ push arround mid/ high sounds good, gonna do on my next mix. Bass turend out to be too loud after compression, will do less next time. That subtile saturation on lowend sounds good, what it is? Want that on my mix, ...
I just cannot follow the argumentation that you cannot learn anything to improve your mix by working with a good&experienced mastering engineer. Ofc you can.... or maybe it is only me All others semm to be smarter already than any mastering engineer can ever be
Yep, and all I'm trying to say: a mastering engineer can help you learning that - in disagreement with the "there is absolutly nothing you can learn from a mastering engineer"The message here is, learn to mix as best you can, if you want a really polished sound.
