This doesn't seem to install a 64 bit version (for Windows).
Do you have BitDefender by any chance ? I've just posted a [presumably] false-positive earlier today as BitDefender was immediately quarantine-ing it.

EDIT: I may have misinterpreted your post, do you mean the standalone version works but doesn't drop a 64bit VST in the right place/at all and/or only makes a 32bit .exe ?

Yeah - this is an exe installer. It installs a 32 bit dll, but nothing for a 64 bit one (not in the folder I told it to, or anywhere else that I can find).
I didn't try the standalone.

Nothing to do with Bitdefender (which is disabled anyway)

Weird, have now got the false positive removed from BitDefender's signatures and ran the installer and it put the 64bit dll into the specified folder absolutely fine. Maybe try running the installer as Administrator or something ?

Post

Weird indeed.
Running as administrator didn't help BUT I deleted the old version (0.9.3) first, and then it installed!
So it doesn't like to overwrite the existing dll.

Oh well, thanks for reporting that it worked for you - so I could keep on trying ;)

There's a 64-bit version in there. At least, there was when I downloaded and installed it last night.

Unfortunately, the same garbled noise came out when previewing (or loading) almost any patch--until I moved the mod wheel up and down. Then they all previewed and played properly.

Odd. My browser didn’t show this page of posts when I wrote my reply. Must have been a cache issue.

Yes, when Zebra 3 is released. Probably sooner, like in 2018.
Portamento is the only thing I miss in Dexed which after years and years remains in my top 5 go-to synths that I use everyday and would take with me if I had to finish my life on an island.

Hi,

Cheers to the intrepid and brave devs.

is there some documentation of the controller id's for the patch parameters, like CC values or something?

are there controller id's/CC values for each parameter generally speaking?

reason is, i would like to create a frontend editor for Dexed, and just use Dexed as the engine. Possible?

In the Dexed Cart (that you find in the mid-height of Dexed's web page) I have included all these:

AViC
  • KV-01 Shofuku Part 1 (programmed by Yasuhiko Fukuda & Noritaka Ubukata)
    • ShofukuPt1(KV01A).syx
    • ShofukuPt1(KV01B).syx
  • KV-02 Shofuku Part 2 (programmed by Yasuhiko Fukuda & Noritaka Ubukata)
    • ShofukuPt2(KV02A).syx
    • ShofukuPt2(KV02B).syx
  • KV-03 Minoru Mukaiya (programmed by Minoru Mukaiya)
    • MinoruMukaiya(KV03A).syx
    • MinoruMukaiya(KV03B).syx
  • KV-04 Ryuichi Sakamoto (programmed by Ryuichi Sakamoto)
    • Sakamoto(KV04A).syx
    • Sakamoto(KV04B).syx
  • KV-05 TOTO (programmed by David Paich & Steve Porcaro)
    • TOTO(KV05A).syx
    • TOTO(KV05B).syx
  • KV-06 Shofuku Gaiden (programmed by Yasuhiko Fukuda & Noritaka Ubukata)
    • ShofukuExtra(1-32).syx
    • ShofukuExtra(33-64).syx
Yasuhiko Fukuda
  • FUKUDA.SYX
AViC (which belonged to Rittor Music) has never produced any other DX7 ROM cartridges than these six above and which are included in my Dexed_cart_1.0.zip that you can download by the link above.
:)

The numeration KV-1xx began from a typo or a fully personal re-numeration in a very old message from a member of a Yamaha DX7 Yahoo Group, who added a 1 after the hyphen for a mysterious reason. The real numbers was these above as I listed them, from KV-01 to KV-06. There has never been any others.

Mention that the first two cartridges have also been sold with the numbers IR-01 and IR-02 when they were sold in 1985. It is in 1986, when Rittor decided to extend the collection with four new cartridges that these first two cartridges were renamed KV-01 and KV-02, without any change in their content.
