How is the new Cubase 9.5 video engine?

Inside 'Package Contents' there is 'videoengine.bundle'. I don't know but in Nuendo 8.5 the video appears with a time display (no subframes) as part of 'Video Player' which I never saw. The idea of Nuendo 8 and Cubase 9 after a certain point (9.02) was to make other codecs work under Windows and so they broke my primary video function, Replace Audio in Video and it is still broken afaik.

When new video engine was released last summer on Cubase 9.0 - it was horrible cpu hog(on windows at least).
I started earlier to use http://vidplayvst.com/index.htm in wait for new engine.
Playing the same video - cpu is 20% less with this than on a video track.
That was then - don't know about newer releases if they optimized it better.
But for my use the vst works perfectly - and will at some point at least try make a videotrack in Cubase 9.5 which I run now. And I only use H264 codec so far - inside mov or mp4 files. And need no editing or anything in Cubase, just preview to make music that I put in video editor and render later.
