Here are two videos. Please check yourself. Sounds nice to me and has one of the better looking interface as RE. How close is it to the Original?

I'd say it's about 70% there, but this 30% is really important. I used to own one in the 90s, but of course I cannot remember what it sounded like. I suppose my S3200 sounds close and even better, though.
I wonder when will people finally understand that emulating analogue is not as easy as emulating frequencies and bits. It's the random noise and phase and everything a bit unstable that makes these sound the way they sound. I'm not selling my S3200, no way.
I would like the software to emulate the sound of any analogue hardware 100%, though. Hardware is harder to handle and it breaks.

Are Reason users really that desperate for sounds ?

Don't feed him. Remember this is KVR. People will twist and go out of topic if they see coma in the wrong place or something idiotic like that just don't bother.jbuonacc wrote:what exactly is that supposed to mean?Teksonik wrote:Are Reason users really that desperate for sounds ?
do you even know what this thing does?
It is a very nice plugin and a cheap way to add different color. Nothing groundbreaking but very nice and simple workflow.

No competition for D16 Decimort though, which goes a whole lot further

It's not decimort at all though...VariKusBrainZ wrote:No competition for D16 Decimort though, which goes a whole lot further
It's its own thing and for what it does it works really well. Worth a demo...

Someway this went under my radar. Really glad that some developers are actively trying to mimic certain sounds of old hardware samplers. TAL is great, Morgana is nasty, Arturia CMI V is fantastic.
Cool. I'll gladly support a product of this nature.

Update 1.1 is out. The sound is very different now, much more high end, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, need some time to use it more and see.
As to this and Decimort2, yes on paper they are the same thing but they sound very different, I much prefer this to Decimort2 personally.
We now have TAL DAC as of yesterday as well, I'm pleased more plugins of this nature are popping up.

I actually just got the RX950 the other night and compared it Decimort 2. The RX950 has a subtle sound difference that I cannot get with the Decimort. That said, I can get close enough by tweaking a few knobs on Decimort. Aside from all the functionality Decimort has, the RX950 does to kicks in a single turn of the knob that takes more sculpting on Decimort. If we're splitting hairs, I can get great results with just Decimort 2. Personally, owning both I can guarantee there is no linear overlap of any common feature other than the filter sweep.

The latest update makes these new changes optional, there's now a brightness slider and if you slide it all the way left, you're back to the exact setting of the original version of the plugin.
