Is there a really good Alesis Midiverb 2 emulation as a plugin?

As an emulation plugin I have no idea, but as convolution reverb yes some IR's do exist.

Midi verbs are so cheap why wouldn't you just get one?

Not the OP, but hardware vs plugin is also a convenience thing imo.Acid Mitch wrote:Midi verbs are so cheap why wouldn't you just get one?
(multiple instances, total recall, faster than realtime render)

Space is at a premium for me so these IRs are a good compromise. Got some splendid SPX90 IRs last year as well.Acid Mitch wrote:Midi verbs are so cheap why wouldn't you just get one?

I will have a look at the IR, thanks! But I fear that the lack of modulation due to the IR will make a difference compared to the device. But let's see.

It's not a 1:1 emulation, but I believe the "Flow" algorithm in Audiority Xenoverb is Alesis-based.

No modulation in the Midiverb II reverbs. There are some modulation effects in there, but as far as I remember, all of the Midiverb II reverbs are time invariant.midi_transmission wrote:yes this.No_Use wrote:Not the OP, but hardware vs plugin is also a convenience thing imo.Acid Mitch wrote:Midi verbs are so cheap why wouldn't you just get one?

Wow, what a super useful reply, valhallasound. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in forums (and for your great reverbs and hassle free copy protection too ).
That means that IR's should work indeed fine to emulate the MIDIverb 2, when I understood it right.

Sold my Midiverb (don't know if it was version 2 or not) 19 years ago to help fund the purchase of a nice acoustic guitar. Otherwise I would give it to you for the price of shipping. I can't for the life of me think of any of the verbs being necessarily 'must have', but certainly you must have a reason to ask about it.

Midiverb II did have some interesting patches. I liked the fast flange on it and patch #25. Can't recall what it was but I used that patch alot. If somebody wants wants real retro "character", go back to Midiverb I, which isn't even rack mounted and was more of a "noise-verb".
