What is iLok? :) I've never heard of such thing... maybe because I prefer buying and authorising plugins without much fuss.

As yes but try reinstalling hundreds of Plugins without an iLok. Been there, done that. Have the grey hairs to prove it. :)

I don't hate it.
The experience in my case (desktop always connected to internet) has been pretty stable.
Not that i am happy about it.

But my worst experience was with Gobbler. And Waves latest fuckup not to happy about it either.

Gobbler was my reason to quit with SOFTUBE. Far too intrusive system.

PS: it helped that SOFTUBE stuff was completely redundant with my other plugins‘ abilities resp. functional range and was too limited resp. oldfashioned in its layout. Since selling all stuff from them I never missed it...
