so i had this really weird dream :o
nothing fancy, just a fun romp.

New in ver. 2.0:
1. using TAL Elektro for seq bass (originally used TAL-MOD)
2. 2 new samples at start and ending :D
3. faster tempo
4. punchier HQ kick drum
5. less fuzzy mix
6. still easy on the ears for :phones:

*note: Tal Elek7ro is STILL the closest vst i've
used that has that rubbery 80's bass tone of my
hardware Akai AX80!

https://soundcloud.com/layzerkvr/ramire ... -dream-v20

some usual suspects:

bass - Tal Elektro
pads - KLC M1
epiano - MDA DX10
ana lead - MDA JX10
FX - EXT2 sampler
drums - Linplug RMIV

enjoy!
:drunk:

Very good fun. Also a bit weird. If you like fun, weird, dream-inspired stuff, you might enjoy this track (not mine) that I also thought was very good fun:

I've posted it as code so as not to confuse visitors to this thread with another embedded SC player.

I take it you don't feel like sharing your dream?

Yes, a fun IDM tune or for listening to. It sounds like you had fun making it. Maybe some echos of the 80’s? there also.

Hey, we spend a third of out lives sleeping and dreaming. I guess it deserves a song or two. :)

I loved the lead -- both the melody and the synth sound. The clattering percussion is cool too.

I am not completely convinced by the fuzzy kick and bass combo. I would prefer more clarity and punch in the low end but I guess I could get used to it.

Great track! 8)

thanks for the spin and input, Frantz, Sir!
i was on the fence about using the softer 808
or harder 909 type kick. i decided to focus more
on melody than kick presence on this one. *tailored for headphones*
i'll play with the kick attack however to get a little more punch in
the low end. ;)

a little weird is good, i think!
well, it was so weird it cant be described in words, only sounds...
thus....... :o

thanks for the link, that was an interesting track. didnt care too much for the last 1/3 part of it as it turned into a loud blur of over brickwall limiting. :phones:

thanks for tuning in, phil!

indeed, 80's influence always. gated toms and snares on this
very evident. the 808 kick, seq bass, ep and lead as well.

True, but also kinda the point, no? Especially given the ending.

I like weird stuff, although not a fan of weirdness just for the sake of it (artwank). So this was a goodie in my book; there was a reason to the weirdness.

it was fun to listen to! reminds a Little bit to the arcade Videogame aera and its Music.
I liked especially the dialogue in the middle as a build up element and the rhythm that entered in the last part...
cheers!

thanks for the kind words on it, Wolf
yeah, it was a tiny bit chiptunish, but not quite, but def 80's arcade retroish!
i thought it was clever to include that phrase, "yea im in the middle of a really weird dream" in the middle of a song called "a really weird dream" :hihi:
it was by no means mixed to be louder than the next guys song, more attention being paid to its balanced frequency spectrum for a pleasant experience with properly aligned, wide, but flat response headphones.

The new mix is a definite improvement. Crystal clear low end. The alarm clock at the end is a nice touch. Great stuff! :phones:
