Hello all,

In case you missed it, a couple of days ago, we released a new maintenance update for Nuendo 8.

In fact it's a massive update that brings upon you all the features introduced in Cubase Pro 9.5. This includes a new double-precision audio engine, new automation tools, double as many insert slots as before, the all-new Metronome, revamped effects, and many other highlights. To round it out, version 8.2 now also includes a new Ambisonics bus system for audio authoring of 360° VR videos.

For a comprehensive overview of Nuendo 8.2 additions, please head over the Nuendo pages here.

Best regards,
GN

Is there anything indicating differences between the current versions of Cubase and Nuendo?

I understand that they are different product lines, however there's clearly some crossover.

There's not merely 'some crossover', it's very nearly the same thing, but Nuendo has post-production features.
For me, a primarily MIDI to soft instruments (and then audio manipulation once rendered) composer there is no substantive difference. Nuendo 8.1 is afaict the same as Cubase 9.5 aside from the post- features.
There may be a couple of things new in Cubase 9.5 that aren't showing in Nuendo but I'd have to check.

Yes, they share a lot of features, but as mentioned Nuendo is focused in Post-Production. It also has a focus on Game Audio as it integrates with Game Audio Connect with Wwise. https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/n ... audio.html

It also has integrated ADR (Automatic dialog recording) mainly fur dubbing, voice over and foley. https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/n ... rding.html

I've been using Nuendo since version 2. I've always liked it (except for a few bugs). Version 8.2 seems to have some GUI bugs that are pretty unusual. I'm sure Steinberg will sort it out sooner or later but it's a little disheartening as I really like the new features but the couple bugs are killing me. (not literally...)

Does the purchase of a Nuendo v8 license enable the license holder to run v7 along with NEK?

Have you reported them, have you sent a Support Request Form with a step by step guide on how to reproduce them, or posted them in the Nuendo forums?

I posted on the forums but have not opened a case yet. I need to make sure the problem it easily repeatable so they can fix it. I have not figured out the magical sequence of event that causes this odd behavior. I'm also wondering if the Nvidia driver could cause this as well. It's as if the previous mixer screen is stored in cache and by going back into the mixer, it displays a previous view, even though it is not correct. The real odd think about it is that i will start adjusting a plugin on the channel, move the scroll bar and find out I just adjusted the wrong channel. I have to be able to repeat it consistently or they will never find it.
