Reference plugin...what the hell!??

Let me get this right, the level meters in each band are supposed to change when you change the frequency of the original. When the white lines are above 0 db on the graph it means your track's frequencies are higher than the reference track, is this correct? So can someone tell me why the f#ck dont these meters change when you adjust the original accordingly? They seem to be all over the fricken place. It's like the level meters are retarded! They change then get stuck at the same position. Even if you mute all the bass tracks in your mix it still displays the same value on the bass band it did before. Shouln't the bass meter be...uhh, a bit lower!?
What the hell's wrong with this thing. It's driving me f%cking nuts!!!!!
